Tammy Arntson is an experienced healthcare leader with diverse clinical, technical and leadership experience. Tammy is the Corporate Director of Strategic Analytics and Data Collection at Covenant Health in Alberta, overseeing the analytics, data collection and evaluation functions of the organization. She has two undergraduate degrees and is currently a student pursuing her EMBA. She holds a Bachelors in Physical Education, Bachelors of Science in Physical Therapy and, is currently mid-way through the Executive Masters of Business Administration at the University of Fredericton. Tammy is a life-long learner and has taken many addition courses such as Lean, Project and Risk Management and Prosci Change Management. Her professional interests include data quality, quality improvement, risk management and, strategic planning. Beyond her professional interests, Tammy volunteers her time teaching youth outdoor education skills and spending time with her family.
Vincci Tang is the Deputy Chief Financial Officer at Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences (Ontario Shores), a public specialty hospital that provides specialized assessment and treatment services for people living with complex mental illness. Ontario Shores is a teaching hospital and engages in research, education and advocacy initiatives that advance the mental health care system.
Ms. Tang is an experienced finance professional having served more than a decade in progressive senior leadership roles within diverse and challenging hospital environments. She also has extensive expertise in the areas of finance, information management and technology, performance measurement and business intelligence.
Her career highlights include providing leadership and contributing to the organization’s achievement and successful revalidation of the HIMSS Analytics EMRAM Stage 7, and the HIMSS Davies Awards in the utilization of health information technology to substantially improve patient outcomes and value.
Ms. Tang holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA).
Scott Wells has been the Director of Information and Analytic Services at eHealth Saskatchewan (eHealth) since 2018. As the Director, Scott is responsible for providing data management, reporting, geographic information system (GIS) support, analytics, and data quality services. His team works every day to support the health system in Saskatchewan, increase efficiencies and, most of all, improve patient care. They also support other branches of government and researchers with their data needs.
eHealth’s Information and Analytic team assists with operational and strategic initiatives, quality improvement and research within the health system. Some examples include understanding the bed capacity in health facilities across the province; physician panel reporting and automation of operational workflows. By providing health system partners with the tools, skilled resources and information they need, Scott’s team is dedicated to democratizing and maturing the data and analytics practices across Saskatchewan.
Scott has more than 10 years of experience leading data initiatives across various sectors. While he is relatively new to the health sector, Scott was eager to seize the opportunity to work in the health system where he could use his love for data and analytics to improve health care in Saskatchewan.
Scott is also the co-lead of the data services platform for Saskatchewan’s SPOR unit SCPOR (Saskatchewan Centre for Patient-Oriented Research). In this role, he is accountable for delivering on SCPOR’s data strategy to improve the access, quality and amount of data available to researchers in order to positively impact patient-oriented research in the province.
Christo El Morr is an Associate Professor of Health Informatics, the Health Informatics Certificate Coordinator, and former Undergraduate Program Director at the School of Health Policy and Management at York University; he is also a Research Scientist at North York General Hospital, Toronto.
His research covers Health Informatics and Global eHealth with a focus on Health Virtual Communities and Health Services Research, particularly in the domain of Mental Health, Chronic Disease Management and Health Promotion. His work in Global eHealth addresses Human and Disability Rights, Equity, and Gender Based Violence. He has published books, chapters, and articles in these areas including the "first of its kind" Health Informatics book in Canada (2018) and a book on Analytics and A.I. “Analytics in Health Care: a practical introduction” (2019). In 2016, he received a recognition as York University Research Leader.
Dr. El Morr is an Associate Editor of the International Journal of Mental Health (IJMH) and the International Journal of Extreme Automation and Connectivity in Healthcare (IJEACH), and an Editorial Board Member of the International Journal of Big Data Security Intelligence (IJBDSI). He also serves as a Scientific Committee Member in several health informatics conference.
Lori is a senior health leader with expertise in strategy, governance, and data management and analytics. As the Director of Business Strategy and Analytics at the Canadian Medical Protective Association, Lori facilitates the establishment of the business strategy and management framework, and leads the data, business intelligence and analytics functions to facilitate corporate planning, reporting and decision-making. Prior to her current role, Lori worked at the Canadian Institute for Health Information for over a decade, where she held roles in data management and analysis, governance and the development of corporate strategy. She has also worked as an occupational therapist and case manager. Lori holds a master in health administration from the Telfer School of Management and a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from the University of Ottawa.
Shirley Fenton has over 30 years of experience in information technology and business development. Her interests are the Science of Innovation, Health Informatics and eHealth, Biotechnology, Intelligent Communities and Community Informatics. She is Vice-President of the National Institutes of Health Informatics (NIHI), a Research Associate of the Computer Systems Group at the University of Waterloo, and a Co-Founder of Waterloo MedTech. Previously at the University of Waterloo, she was Managing Director, Waterloo Institute of Health Informatics Research and Business Development Director, Centre for Bioengineering and Biotechnology. She received the Zonta International Women of Achievement “Trailblazer Award” and in 2016, she was the inaugural recipient of the Healthcare Information Management and Communications Canada “Human Foundations Award”. She is a frequent speaker and panel moderator at national and international conferences. She is a tennis fanatic. Shirley obtained a Bachelor of Environmental Studies and a Master of Arts from the University of Waterloo.
Monica is Program Manager, Surgery Data and Analytics within the Analytics (DIMR) portfolio of Alberta Health Services (AHS) and was previously Director, Provincial Reporting Services, AHS. Taking on the leadership of this newly created function, Monica is aiming to lead and coordinate Surgery Analytics across the province by developing and implementing a transformational plan to leverage data assets so that high performing and insightful analytic systems are able to support consistent delivery and improvement initiatives for surgical services across AHS. All aspects will be supported and addressed within the transformed Surgery Analytics program, from experience and outcomes to quality and innovation to utilization and sustainability. Monica has a background in Mathematics and Computer Science and has held Health Analytics leadership roles with Calgary Health Region and subsequently Alberta Health Services for over 13 years.
Sinéad McElhone has a BSc (Hons) degree in Human Nutrition and a DPhil in the large scale epidemiological study of obesity in children and adolescents, both from Ulster University in Northern Ireland. She then worked in Deakin University Mebourne, Australia as a post-doc research fellow in the area of child obesity before returning to England an obtaining a position as a Senior lecturer at Leeds Beckett University in the areas of nutrition, epidemiology and public health. In 2013 she obtained an Epidemiologist position within Niagara Region Public Health and became the Manager of the Surveillance and Evaluation team which comprises of a variety of data specialists. Her team is currently working to onboard public health programs and services onto an electronic medical record system, to implement and enhance current IG standards (privacy, audit and governance standards) and to make better use of the huge amounts of data that are currently being collected within Public Health. Her team also places a heavy focus on population health and health equity and identifies the prevalence of key health issues (such as diabetes, cancer and sexually transmitted infections) in various geographic/demographic groups and translates this information to usable intelligence for decision makers.
Bob is the Executive Director of the Canadian Cyber Threat Exchange (CCTX). The CCTX is Canada’s private sector organization for the sharing and analysis of cyber threat information, and enabling collaboration across all sectors. Most recently, Bob was a Director, Global Cyber Security at CGI. Prior to this, he enjoyed a long and successful career in the Federal Government, which included being the architect of Canada’s first Cyber Security Strategy for which he received the Deputy Minister’s Achievement Award.
Bob has had a unique career in a number of Canada’s security, intelligence and law enforcement organizations: Public Safety Canada, Communications Security Establishment, Canadian Security Intelligence Service, and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. He held senior executive positions, including at the Senior Assistant Deputy Minister level. He was responsible for science and technology, information management/information technology, and internal security programs (personnel, physical and information technology). Bob has also provided operational leadership in investigating and analyzing the full range of threats to the security of Canada, which included leading the CSIS Counter Terrorism program.
Ian Joiner is the Manager of Health Networks at the Better Outcomes Registry & Network (BORN Ontario), a program of the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO). Based in Ottawa, Ian is responsible for a number of strategic and operational priorities to collect, interpret, share, and rigorously protect high-quality data essential to making Ontario the safest place in the world to have a baby. He is a Registered Physiotherapist, has a Masters Degree in Public Administration, and achieved the Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) designation from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
Susan Woollard is the Vice President of Clinical Programs and Chief Nursing Executive at North York General Hospital. Susan is a Registered Nurse and holds a Masters of Education, Emergency Nursing Certification also holds the Canadian Health Executive Certification. She has an adjunct clinical appointment at Lawrence S Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing – University of Toronto. Susan has presented at a variety of venues and conferences. She and her teams have received the following awards: Health Care Quality Team Award 3M, Canadian Healthcare Excellence in Quality Award (CHEQA), Nicholas E. Davies Enterprise Award of Excellence

Peter joined Microsoft nearly 20 years ago and has been focused on the healthcare industry for over 10 years. He is actively involved in a number Health Informatics groups such as COACH, CHIEF (Advisor), and is an active ITAC Health board member.
Anna Malenkov is a Program Manager of the Data Services Team with the Community and Health Services Department at York Region. The team provides internal and external clients with data analysis and research expertise. Since joining York Region in 2002, Anna analyzed data in tabular and spatial formats, created maps, web views, databases and applications and developed and taught internal training courses. Prior to York Region, Anna worked at the City of Markham and the Ministry of Natural Resources.
Anna holds a M.Sc. degree in Biology from the St. Petersburg University in Russia. During her professional career prior to coming to Canada, Anna worked as a Wildlife Biologist in an Ecological Reserve in Russia and as a research scientist in a Technological Centre in Israel.

Nicolas Theodoric manages the Utilization and Analytics team at Mackenzie Health. Nicolas lead the hospital-wide business intelligence implementation as part of Mackenzie Health’s 2017 electronic medical record implementation. Nicolas’ team oversees decision support, business intelligence, and case-costing functions within the organization.
